Railway to introduce eleven new trains
The Ministry of Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), which had announced the launch of Palace on Wheels II in October this year, have pushed the launch date to December, though the exact date has still not been decided. The luxury train has also been renamed from Palace on Wheels II to Royal Rajasthan on Wheels. According to the official sources the itinerary of the new train will be the same as the Palace on Wheels, except that it will go to Bikaner instead of Sawai Madhopur and will be more luxurious than Palace on Wheels. Rajasthan will pay haulage charges of Rs 25 lakh per trip to the Indian Railway Ministry, as per the new policy formulated by railways for tourist trains.
Catering to the growing demand of tourists, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will cover Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Chittaurgar, Udaipur , Bharatpur and Agra . The train, which will be equipped with a spa, gym, two restro-bars, STD and Internet facilities, is being made in Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. The train will be ready by November and it will start operations in December this year. The new train will have 22 coaches including super deluxe suites and deluxe saloons. Besides, the super luxury train will have a board room and a conference room. Rail Tours in India
